Independent water-data site. Not a government website. Every number comes from official agency gauges.

Privacy policy

Last updated October 21, 2026.

This site shows public water data. You do not need an account, and we do not collect your name or email unless you sign up for a level alert.

Level alerts

If you create an alert, we store your email address, the place and the level you chose, and the time and network address of the sign-up (to stop abuse). We send a confirmation email first; nothing else is sent until you confirm. Every alert email has a one-click unsubscribe link. We never sell or share your address and never send other marketing. Emails are delivered through our email provider, which processes your address only to deliver them.

Advertising

We show ads from Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technology to show ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can manage personalised ads at Google Ad Settings, and learn how Google uses data at How Google uses information from sites that use its services. Visitors in the UK, EEA and Switzerland are asked for consent through a Google-certified consent message before personalised ads are shown.

Affiliate links and lodging map

Some pages link to products on Amazon. If you buy through such a link we may earn a commission; Amazon may set cookies to record this. Lake pages may include a lodging map from Stay22, which can set cookies to track bookings. See our affiliate disclosure.

Settings in your browser

If you switch between light and dark mode, that choice is saved in your browser's local storage and never leaves your device.

Server logs

Our web server and content delivery network (Cloudflare) keep standard access logs (IP address, page requested, browser type) for security and to keep the site running. Logs are deleted after a limited period.
